Amid alleged reports of dogs getting sick from eating Nutro Dog Food, could there be a Nutro Dog Food recall coming?

On April 20, 2009 the FDA confirmed there is a probe investigating possible illnesses and death from people feeding Nutro food to their pets. You can visit the link, by clicking here.

Each and every pet owner should watch there pets carefully for symptoms of diarrhea or vomiting or any other form of illness when they open a new bag of dog food, cat food or pet treats.

The only solution in my mind to prevent poisoning of our pets is to prepare our own dog food or look for dog food graded for human consumption. This should at least lower the potential instance of our dogs becoming sick from the food they eat.

Hopefully, one day we can get a real industry standard for the food our pets eat. Stay tuned for a possible Nutro Dog Food recall. You have to decide for yourself if this warrants changing brands or how you feed your pets.

With the unbelievable mass recall of dog foods earlier this year, many dog owners are scared and concerned. They now want to know exactly what type of dog food ingredients are in the food they buy for their pets.

Pet food labels can be confusing to look at. If you have never read the ingredient label on your dog’s food, here are a few pointers. The ingredients are always listed in descending order, starting with what has the highest percentage/amount present. The top five or ten are the most important. Since the recall, if one of those is a rice/corn/wheat product, it’s a good idea to look at another brand.

Another ingredient to watch out for is meat meal or bone meal. These are not approved by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (or AAFCO) and can actually contain contaminated meat sources.

Any type of hydrolyzed product can be listed as a protein, but don’t be fooled. Most of these are indigestible proteins, so it is just basically a “space filler” type of ingredient.

You need to look at specifically what type of dog food ingredients are included. See what they have listed as the main protein, carbohydrates, fiber, fat and nutrients. More importantly, see if there are any unwanted ingredients, like preservatives or the aforementioned meat meal/bone meal.

One tactic to watch out for is when a manufacturer breaks down an ingredient and lists it as several different items. They do this to hide the fact that it’s actually one of the major ingredients. If there are several corn or rice or other supplemental ingredients, combine them together and you’ll probably see that it is actually one of the main ingredients. This should set off a warning for you to look at another product.

Dog food with ingredients that have met the AAFCO standards will have their stamp of approval on the label. This does not guarantee the purity of the food, but does show that the manufacturer made an attempt to provide quality dog food.

The bottom line here is that to make sure you are feeding your pet the best dog food ingredients you can. You should do your own research. Then decide if there is a brand you feel is safe or even if you should even consider making your own. You can make a difference in your dog’s life … starting today.

Start your research with Dog Food Secrets. If it isn’t everything I have been trying to share with you, get your money back. It is fully guaranteed. I don’t endorse many dog products, but as a dog trainer I do believe in quality of life for our dogs. I know you have had or know someone whose dog’s life has been snuffed at an early age due to disease. What if this could have been prevented? Thank you.

Is Dog Food Secrets providing truthful information in its report? Don’t just take their word for it. There are several quotes and testimonials that you will find interesting if you go to the Dog Food Secrets site. Here are a few quotes that will give you hard hitting truths about commercial dog foods:

Debra Lynn Dadd, author of ‘Home Safe Home’ says commercial dog food companies’ claims that their product is a complete and healthy meal are false..

“Many pet foods claim to be “100% nutritionally complete and balanced.” This claim legally can be made and printed on commercial products based on information studies using isolated nutrients and not whole foods

.. these tests ignore important nutritional issues and give … consumers a false sense of knowledge and security.

There are more than forty known, essential nutrients… thus, making sure a food contains appropriate amounts of only a dozen of these nutrients can’t possibly assure that a food is “complete.”

In this one, best-selling pet care author, Ann N. Martin, reveals why foods labeled as ‘chemical and preservative free’ are actually chock-full of deadly poisons…

“Before these animal parts and by-product used for pet food are shipped from the slaughterhouse to the rendering plant, the by-product is “denatured.”

This means that crude carbolic acid, cresylic disinfectant, or citronella, is sprayed on the product.”

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and author, Henry Pasternak, rips back the veil of lies about dog food labeling..

“Many pet foods advertised as “preservative-free” do, in fact, contain preservatives.

..manufacturers don’t have to list preservatives that they themselves did not add.

Many preservatives make their way into pet food at rendering plants before the meat is even sent to the manufacturer. An analysis of several pet foods labeled “chemical free” or “all natural ingredients” found synthetic antioxidants in all samples.”

Dr. Henry Pasternak also adds..

“Although you won’t see it on the label, since it is often added at the rendering plant and not by the manufacturer, ethoxyquin (EQ) is used to preserve most dry pet food.

EQ is the most powerful of all preservatives and may be the most toxic.

The use of EQ is … permitted in pet food.

…factory workers exposed to it exhibited side effects similar to those of agent orange:

    * a dramatic rise in liver or kidney damage,
* cancerous skin lesions,
* hair loss,
* blindness,
* leukemia,
* fetal abnormalities, and
* chronic diarrhea.

In animals, EQ has been linked to:

    * immune deficiency syndrome;
* spleen, stomach, and liver cancers;
* and a host of allergies.”

These comments provide even more reasons to look into Dog Food Secrets. Would you knowingly poison your dog? Of course not! If this material could improve and extend the quality of your dog’s life, I am sure you would jump at the chance. I believe Dog Food Secrets is worth that chance. After all, if you don’t like it, you can get your money back. It has an 8 weeks guarantee.

Why is it even necessary to have a product like Dog Food Secrets even made? It is a travesty. A symbol of greed in our society.

If you are like me, your dog is very dear to you. He or she is just as much a member of your family than anyone else. They are there for you when you have had a good day or a bad day. It is called unconditional love.

What would you think if I told you that you were unknowingly shortening your dog’s life? That you were shortening your dog’s life by months or even years? What would you think if I told you that there was something you could do about it?

If you are feeding your dog most commercial dog foods (Yes, even the most expensive brands available), you are slowly poisoning (isn’t that what shortening a dog’s life is) your best friend to death.

You could always start comparing the different dog foods to make sure your dog is getting the best dog food possible. But does this really work?

No!

Dog food standards are not the same as humans. Did you know that seeing the term “chemical free” on your dog food label really means nothing? By law, all the manufacturers have to do to say this is not put any chemicals in the food after it reaches manufacturing.

Anything and I mean anything could go in the dog food before processing. Chemicals, inert ingredients, even euthanized animals have been rendered to go back into dog food!

And your bag of dog food says “chemical free”. Do you still feel the same way now?

Dog Food Secrets is an alternative. There are alternative, human ingredient dog foods available as well. Just read the labels and do your homework.

Dog Food Secrets removes the worry of doing your homework. Why? It shows you how to control your pet’s destiny. Extend his or her life … at a cost much cheaper than commercial dog foods.

According to the FDA and the Animal Protection Institute, more than 17,000 pets were reported sick from the Menu Foods contamination and dog food recalls this spring. Of these 17,000 pets, more than 20% or 3000 pets died from eating food we thought was safe. Dog Food Secrets, an ebook that exposes the pet food industry basically says there is even more we sure be worried about.

The dog food recalls are something to be concerned about. But, the dog food itself should make us worry just as much. Dog Food Secrets reports statistics that dog would live up to 8.3 years longer it had a healthy lifestyle.

Dog food ingredients and processing practices in the industry would cause many of us to shudder and shake our heads in disgust if we were to witness them personally. Dead and diseased farm animals, chemicals from by-products and even phenobarbital used to euthanize animals has been detected in tests of dog food processing … and they are all perfectly legal in the U.S.

What can you do?

Unfortunately dog food recalls will continue. We have had two major dog food recalls in the last three years. We are naive to think they will never happen again. Couple that with commercial dog food practices. We should take action if we truly love our dogs.

Dog Food Secrets will give you even more information regarding what is in our dog food and how to protect your dog.

Dog Food Secrets will show you how you can buy your own human ingredient foods and prepare them for your best friend. And save you major money at the same time. Yes, Dog Food Secrets says you will save up to hundreds of dollars a year in food, not to mention savings in vet bills.

Dog Food Secrets says you are not safe trusting a dog food just because it is high priced and has a premium label. It will show you how to read a dog food label. Although they recommend your own food preparation, it will guide you if you must buy a commercial dog food.

Dog food recalls. Dog food contamination. Do we really need to expose our dog to this health hazard? Don’t we want our dog to have a long healthy life? Barbara Woodhouse, a famous dog trainer gave her own testimonial. She said her dogs were living longer, healthier with each generation … and she made her own dog food. Dog Food Secrets will give you the answers you need now.
